This is a personal founding story. It traces how a birthday wish, a typhoon, and a period of physical labor and volunteering led me into HappyPower. Through disaster recovery, collective action, and bodily experience, this essay reflects on play, energy, work, and why joy can become a serious form of power.

Last weekend, HappyPower hosted a late-night youth talk —part of the UN Youth Office’s #YouthLead Dialogues, calling young voices worldwide to speak up this summer. Selected voices will head straight to the UN Youth Festival this September!
